In the world
In the world, we look in flea markets, junk shops, old taverns, shops, and wherever you can look for these increasingly rare to find slicers and scales.
Berkel produces the best slicers on the market, for all needs.
Our company restores vintage Berkel products.
Berkel slicers: these are the most important, the most refined models that European industry has been able to offer us, fully restored to make your tables happy everyday. In this selection of models we present our best Berkel slicers: the models include the most ancient and sought-after vintage Berkel slicers, both flywheel and electric Berkel models.
The elegance of this historic Berkel slicer gives elegance to any environment in which it is placed. The oldest slicers, produced from 1898 to 1928, are those with a flower flywheel. In 1922, the flywheel changed: its shape was filled and the embossed writings were added.
From 1928 the flywheel will no longer have the lettering in relief and from 1922 the traditional manual slicers will be made partially electric. Transition completed in the 1930s with the first completely electric model. The charm of the Berkel vintage slicers remains unchanged over time thanks to careful restoration, and even the ancient models can maintain their best efficiency.
In the 1930s, the traditional slicers born from the genius of the Dutch butcher/inventor Wilhelmus Adrianus van Berkel, met the innovation of the electric motor: they operate without a flywheel. This historical period of great ferment also influenced the then thirty-year history of the Berkel brand. More compact dimensions, easy to handle, perfect for professional and domestic use, modern design, always of high prestige.
The Berkel scales are perfectly combined with the brand’s slicers. Classic and linear shape, blazing red color, single or double plate, extremely precise: so much so that once they were also used in post offices or pharmacies for the medicines compositions. The ideal accessory to accommodate freshly cut products from our timeless slicer: the Berkel.
In the world, we look in flea markets, junk shops, old taverns, shops, and wherever you can look for these increasingly rare to find slicers and scales.
There have been and are many difficulties, but what has pushed us and encourages us to continue is PASSION! Both ours and that of the highly specialized artisans who collaborate with us.
So, step by step, we have arrived today and there are many Berkel slicers and scales that we have been able to put into operation both for the perfect daily use, and for the pleasure of owning a unique piece of furniture, of great historical content and value that is renewed over time.
